Lead Laughter

Certified Laughter Yoga Leader Training

£250

Live online | Zoom | 7 weeks | 2 hours per week

Learn to confidently lead laughter yoga in a way that feels authentic, grounded, and sustainable for you.

The Certified Laughter Yoga Leader Training is for people who want to take their experience of laughter yoga further and learn how to facilitate it for others: whether in community groups, workplaces, wellbeing settings, parent groups, or as part of an existing practice or offering.

This training is delivered differently from a traditional two-day intensive. Rather than trying to fit the learning and practice into one weekend, we meet for two hours each week over seven weeks. This gives you time to learn, practise, reflect, and return with questions.

The goal is not simply to complete your training and receive a certificate. It is to leave feeling more confident about using what you have learned in real life.

A different way to learn to lead

Learning to facilitate laughter yoga can feel very different from simply taking part in a session.

You may understand the exercises but still wonder:

How do I actually lead a group?

What if people feel awkward?

How do I adapt this to the people in front of me?

How can I make laughter yoga fit naturally into the work I already do?

This is why I have chosen to offer the training over several weeks.

The additional time allows you to practise facilitation between sessions, notice what feels comfortable and what doesn’t, and gradually develop your confidence rather than being expected to have it all figured out by the end of a weekend.

There is space to learn from one another, try things out, receive supportive feedback, and reflect on how you want to use laughter yoga in your own context.

What you’ll learn

The training covers the foundations required for Laughter Yoga International Leader certification, while placing a strong emphasis on practical facilitation.

Laughter Yoga foundations

You will deepen your understanding of:

  • the principles and practice of laughter yoga

  • the role of laughter, breathing, movement, and play

  • the wellbeing benefits associated with laughter

  • how laughter yoga can support connection and stress management

  • how to structure and facilitate a laughter yoga session

Facilitation skills

We will explore what it means to lead a group rather than simply participate in one.

You will have opportunities to practise:

  • introducing laughter yoga to new groups

  • leading laughter and breathing exercises

  • creating a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere

  • guiding groups through a session

  • responding to different levels of participation

  • adapting activities for different audiences and settings

  • developing your own natural facilitation style

Practice, reflection and confidence

A central part of this training is having the opportunity to practise.

Rather than only learning what to do, you will have space to actually try it.

You will:

  • lead exercises within the group

  • practise putting together parts of a session

  • receive supportive feedback

  • learn through observing others

  • reflect on your own facilitation

  • have time between sessions to practise and experiment

Some learning and practice activities will be set between the live sessions. These are designed to help you bring the learning into everyday life rather than simply completing assignments for the sake of the course.

Making it work for you

One of the things I particularly want to explore with participants is:

How can laughter yoga become part of what you already do?

You don’t necessarily need to create a completely new business or start running standalone laughter clubs.

Perhaps you already work in wellbeing, education, community support, coaching, family work, hospitality, workplace wellbeing, or another setting where laughter and connection could be useful.

Throughout the training, we’ll explore how you might adapt your new skills to your own context.

This could mean:

  • incorporating laughter into an existing wellbeing session

  • using laughter as an energising or connecting activity with a team

  • adding laughter practices to community groups

  • developing your own laughter yoga sessions

  • using laughter and breathing practices alongside other wellbeing work

  • exploring opportunities to create something new

The aim is to help you discover what feels natural, useful, and sustainable for you.

A grounded and supportive learning space

My approach to training reflects the wider Laughing Well philosophy: wellbeing first, connection over performance, and practical tools that can be used in everyday life.

You do not need to be naturally outgoing.

You do not need to be the funniest person in the room.

And you don’t need to become someone else in order to lead laughter.

Instead, we’ll work towards finding a facilitation style that feels authentic to you.

I aim to create a learning environment that is:

  • warm and welcoming

  • practical and experiential

  • supportive rather than overwhelming

  • inclusive and non-judgemental

  • focused on confidence-building

  • grounded in real-life application

There is room to be nervous, to try something that feels awkward, to laugh at yourself, and to learn together.

Emelia Harris

Certified Laughter Yoga Teacher | Breath Coach | Social Worker | Mentor

I bring together my experience in laughter yoga, breathing practices, social work, mentoring, and wellbeing facilitation to create training that is practical, relational, and grounded.

My focus is not simply on teaching people what to do, but on helping them understand how they can use these tools in ways that feel appropriate for the people and settings they work with.

I believe people learn best when they have space to practise, ask questions, reflect, and build confidence over time.
